OJPBFR/QC
French-born Olivier Borzeix has been making waves for over a decade, in Montréal as well as on the international circuit. A somewhat classically trained musician, he tries his hand at styles as varied as classical music, metal and free jazz, but his career really takes flight once he lands in Québec. Under the pseudonym Bowly, he became one of the earliest ambassadors of UK Grime and UK Funky in Montréal as a member of collectives ESL and Knife & Fork, producing a couple of EPs featuring dirty basslines on labels such as Berkane Sol and Fur Trade Recordings. His recent releases as OJPB on labels such as Lazy Days, Parages and Boogie Café aim to channel the spirit of disco through a decidedly deep house lens, releases that were properly mastered and refined thanks to his well-equipped and much envied studio.
