Welcome Address
Canada Council for the Arts
To better understand the human condition, fully experience the world around us and challenge our assumptions, we need art, now more than ever.
More engagement, connection and inspiration are what the arts promise us and what you are bringing to life, collectively, through this unique gathering of the arts and culture in Canada.
The Canada Council for the Arts is a proud supporter of the MUTEK festival, and I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to all those involved.
Michelle Chawla, Director and CEO of Canada Council for the Arts
Minister of Canadian Heritage
MUTEK is more than just an arts festival—it’s a gathering at the crossroads of technology, electronic music and digital art. Since its inception, the festival has captured minds and attracted local, national and international talent, and helped make Montréal a hub for digital creativity.
Our government is committed to supporting and promoting cultural gatherings, like Mutek, that reflect our diversity and openness, as well as the talent and skill of our creators. These events are essential in preserving our cultural heritage, and also promoting innovation.
As Minister of Canadian Heritage, I would like to thank the organizers, artists and volunteers who have played an integral part in the success of the 24th edition of Mutek. I hope you all enjoy an excellent festival.
The Honourable Pascale St-Onge, Minister of Canadian Heritage
Tourisme Montréal
The MUTEK electronic music festival helps to position Montréal as an innovative city, that is a hotbed for the arts. Year after year, the event showcases the culture and creativity of our destination, while helping to energize the Quartier des spectacles, a hub for festival-goers from all over the world. We’re delighted to have been supporting this event for more than 15 years now!”
