Since the 80s, Michel Plamondon has racked up an impressive number of live performances and studio recordings under a number of different pseudonyms, namely StMichel. Having made his debut as the keyboard player of Darkwave outfit Handful of Snowdrops, he embarked on various side projects such as Le Czantoria, Space Frogs, Press-Tone QC, M39 Orchestra and Outvaders. He gained notoriety during the 90s thanks to a string of captivating live Techno performances and DJ sets at rave parties. For over a decade, he delved into the Minimal Microhouse space, also crafting a quirky brand of Dub techno. In order to unite electronic music creators, he also founded Transcendance, Frogasmic, Pong’s Not Dead and CCCLTD.CA, various platforms for the distribution of Electronica, Acid techno, Ambient and Quadraphonic AV music in Europe and North America, showcasing the likes of Akufen, Aun, Billy Dalessandro, Claire, Magnanime and Vincent Lemieux. In 1996, he released an EP of his iconic performance at Paris’ La Locomotive (La Machine du Moulin Rouge). Since then, the stages of MUTEK Montréal, Piknic Électronik, Festival d’été de Québec, Sound In Motion and many others have welcomed him for both DJ and live performances. As the principal programmer for a number of independent events and former curator of Mois-Multi, Michel Plamondon has featured electronic music and audiovisual creations from artists around the world, showcasing tracks as bewitching as they are danceable. Through his nearly 4 decades of involvement, work and unwavering passion, Michel Plamondon undeniably contributed to the development and promotion of La Vieille Capitale’s many electronic music scenes.
Accompanied by an array of synths, StMichel returns to the limelight to present a live version of his acclaimed album Données Sensibles. Throughout this performance, he’ll explore the many nuances of his signature brand of electronic music, mesmerizing the audience with enthralling Techno, synthetic textures and leftfield House sounds.
